Over Skimming Services
This is the application of a very thin additional layer of fine plaster that is typically used when existing walls and ceilings aren’t smooth, this will give you a perfectly smooth finish ready for the application of wallpaper or painting.
Skimming Services
Similar to over skimming this process applies a smooth plaster finish coat to whether you have new plasterboard, brickwork or block work we can plaster the surface.
Plaster Boarding Services
Is where large sheets of plaster board is fitted over either a framework or to an existing surface to provide a level base for the application of the final plaster layer. Sometimes in large commercial projects the plaster board joints are taped with a flat wide tape and then a jointing compound is applied to the tape to provide a smooth fine finish.
Rendering Services
This is essentially the same process as plastering but using cement based medium which is used for external / outdoor finishes. Render is a means of weatherproofing external brickwork or block work and also provides a good visual finish.
Coving and Cornices Service
If you are looking to provide a decorative finish to rooms coving and cornices are a method of adding a decorative flourish and are particularly popular in period properties.
Artexing Services
Although loosing its popularity in recent years this was almost the standard domestic finish for properties in the 1970’s and 1980’s and DHM Building Maintenance is able to match artex finishes where ceilings need to be patched or repaired as required.
Dry lining Services
This is a similar process to plaster boarding but is a replacement process to using “wet” processes such as brick/block work. Mostly used for internal walls and partitions dry-lining is quick and clean and with modern materials offers many advantages over traditional partition construction methods. Plastering is one of the specialist trades that generally comes towards the end of the building schedule but is a frequently used process in the maintenance of properties that have suffered from water damage – leaking bathrooms or kitchens etc. Unfortunately modern building processes rely heavily on dry-lining and this means that when there is a water leak the damage is quickly visible to internal walls and especially ceilings. Damaged radiators and bathrooms cause frequent damage to internal ceilings and these often have to be re-plastered.
